Truth for Patriots Votes

Truth for Patriots is praying that America takes a huge step back towards God in the coming 2008 November elections! To equip voters to prayerfully consider their choices for president, TFP offers the following candidate report card.

TFP encourages you to get informed and ask God to lead you as to whom to vote for each position this November (US President, your Senators and Representatives in this 2-year cycle, etc.). TFP strongly believes that it is a Christians' duty to vote and that you are disobeying God when you don't vote!

When you neglect to vote, you are actually voting whether you like to or not! You are essentially voting against the "best candidate" (assuming that when you vote, you are seeking God's direction) because that is one less vote for him or her. Whom is the "best candidate"? As God says in Psalms, "When the Righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan". Obviously, the "best candidate" is the most righteous candidate. In some cases, the pickins seem slim, but certainly some candidates that are more righteous than others and God will reveal that to you as you seek His choice.

God ordains governments and those that run them (eg., Solomon, Moses, Saul, David, etc.) and so whomever is in authority, God has allowed. Yes, even Hitler & Stalin and other murderous tyrants you can think of, God allowed for He is in control of all things. It must have greatly grieved God's heart to allow such rulers to take the reins, but He no doubt allowed it because the people's hearts had turned away from Him. Let us as Americans not repeat the same mistake made over and over again throughout history by Nations who had been blessed by God, only to later turn away from Him and suffer the consequences.

PLEASE VOTE AND PLEASE VOTE FOR THE BEST CANDIDATES AS GOD REVEALS THEM TO YOU!

TFP loves James Dobson and the wonderful work that God has done through him at Focus on the Family, but obviously, we strongly disagree with his comment that he would "sit this one out" if John McCain gains the Republican party nomination. We hope that Dr. Dobson will reconsider and agree that God would have us vote, regardless the slim pickens!
