Vidal vs. Girard's Executors, 1844

Here is today's Truth for Patriots with Founder Tom Evans...

“The plan of education proposed is anti-Christian, and therefore repugnant to the law…”

This statement is from the plantiff’s lawyer in the 1844 Supreme Court case of “Vidal vs. Girard’s Executors”. Wealthy Stephen Girard had died and bequeathed his entire estate to the city of Philadelphia to establish an orphanage and college – but he required that “no minister of any sect ever hold or exercise any station or duty …in the college” The court ruled…

“…The purest principles of morality ARE to be taught. Where are they found? Whoever searches for them must go to the source from which a Christian man derives his faith… the Bible.”

To our early courts, separating Christianity from education was unthinkable and could not be allowed!
