The Proper Role of the Judiciary

Here is today's Truth for Patriots with Founder Tom Evans...

Founding Father Thomas Jefferson warned of the particular danger if the judiciary were to usurp authority from the other branches of government. His words seem particularly appropriate to us today…

"You seem to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine, indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. Our judges are as honest as other men, and not more so…and their power is the more dangerous, as they are in office for life and not responsible, to the elective control"

As Thomas Jefferson knew and our founding documents specify, matters of constitutionality are first and foremost up to the people, then the legislative and the executive, and last the judiciary.
